A place to pause.

The French Friedrichstadtkirche at Gendarmenmarkt grew from Berlin’s Huguenot community and was completed in the early eighteenth century. Its church and adjoining domed tower form one side of the formal square opposite the Deutscher Dom, with the Konzerthaus between them.

The building was severely damaged during the Second World War and later reconstructed. Its Kirchsaal hosts chamber and organ music in a restrained historic setting; paid short organ programmes are distinct from the individually verified free recitals listed here.
