THE PLACE & THE MUSIC

A place to pause.

St. Marienkirche is one of Berlin’s oldest surviving churches, standing close to Alexanderplatz beneath its distinctive tower. The Gothic brick building has changed across centuries while remaining a prominent open church in the centre of the city.

Its Wagner/Kern organ incorporates surviving pipes by Joachim Wagner. The church continues a free weekly organ-music tradition documented there since at least 1895.

Free concerts at different times of day; see each individually checked listing.
