THE PLACE & THE MUSIC
A place to pause.
Saint-Sulpice’s monumental seventeenth- and eighteenth-century interior forms one of the largest church spaces in Paris. Its west front opens onto the Place Saint-Sulpice, while the interior houses one of the great instruments of the French symphonic organ tradition. Aristide Cavaillé-Coll rebuilt the grand organ in 1862, drawing on earlier work by François-Henri Clicquot.
Organists including Charles-Marie Widor and Marcel Dupré shaped its musical history across generations. AROSS continues that tradition through recitals, documentation and preservation, allowing listeners to hear the historic instrument in the acoustic for which it was conceived.
Free concerts at different times of day; see each individually checked listing.
