OperaCamion began in 2016, bringing opera out of the theatre and into Rome’s neighbourhoods. Largo Paolo Emilio Taviani provides the open-air setting in Cinecittà Est, with the travelling stage, orchestra and audience arranged within a familiar residential square.

The 2026 production joins the theatre’s professional forces with participation from local choirs. Visitors bring their own chairs, allowing an ordinary public space to become a temporary free opera house for the evening.
