A place to pause.

The oval nave and copper-clad dome of Peterskirche create an intimate Baroque interior just off the Graben in Vienna’s historic centre. The present church was built in the early eighteenth century on a site associated with much older places of worship; frescoes, side chapels and gilded architectural detail concentrate the eye beneath the dome.

Its programme includes organ concerts as well as worship and ticketed chamber performances. The compact central position makes it an easy musical pause between Stephansplatz and the Hofburg. Only individually verified free recitals appear in this diary.
