The court chapel within the Hofburg’s Schweizerhof hosts a musical tradition maintained by the Wiener Hofmusikkapelle. Its public programme includes both services and concerts; only separately advertised free concerts appear here.

A place to pause.

The court chapel lies within the Hofburg’s medieval Schweizerhof, reached through the old palace courtyards close to the Michaelerplatz entrance. Its Gothic fabric preserves one of the most intimate historic interiors in the imperial complex.

The Wiener Hofmusikkapelle maintains a musical tradition associated with the Habsburg court and generations of court musicians. The public programme includes both liturgical services and separately announced concerts; Hour Classics lists only the latter when free admission is explicitly confirmed.
