Grace Church
Bach at Noon offers a short pause for organ music in this Broadway church.
THE PLACE & THE MUSIC
A place to pause.
Grace Church’s Gothic Revival building, designed by James Renwick Jr, opened in 1846. Its marble façade and slender spire mark the bend in Broadway at East 10th Street, where the regular Manhattan grid meets the older line of Broadway.
The long nave, carved stonework and stained glass create an atmospheric setting for organ and choral music. The church’s public musical life includes Bach at Noon and weekend organ meditations, inviting people passing between Union Square and Greenwich Village to step inside for a short free performance.
Free concerts at different times of day; see each individually checked listing.
