Conservatoire Frédéric Chopin
A renewed municipal conservatory for music, dance and theatre in Paris’s Bargue-Procession quarter.
THE PLACE & THE MUSIC
A place to pause.
The Conservatoire Frédéric Chopin opened in 1976 within the Bargue-Procession development, originally arranged largely below street level around two patios. A 1995 extension added offices and an auditorium while retaining the compact organisation of the original building.
A major renovation and enlargement, completed in 2025 by Litotes, retained the concrete base while renewing teaching rooms, energy performance and accessibility. A new timber-framed volume with reclaimed limestone gives the conservatory a more visible entrance and an orchestra rehearsal room facing the neighbourhood. The municipal venue now serves about 1,100 students across music, dance and theatre.
The 18 September 2026 saxophone-quartet elimination round is individually verified as free, public and separate from teaching activity.
