THE PLACE & THE MUSIC
A place to pause.
The Archives nationales occupy the Hôtel de Soubise, a historic mansion in the Marais whose sweeping entrance court opens from the rue des Francs-Bourgeois. Rebuilt for the prince and princess of Soubise in the early eighteenth century, its rooms preserve celebrated Rococo interiors alongside the documentary collections.
Free cultural programmes move through the courtyard, salons and garden-facing spaces rather than a single conventional auditorium. Concerts by Jeunes Talents bring short chamber performances into this layered setting, close to the Musée Picasso and the medieval streets around the rue des Archives.
Free concerts at different times of day; see each individually checked listing.
